Adult Education: From The Merchant of Venice to Something Rotten: Jews on the Stage

In this class we will look at some classic portrayals of Jews on the stage, including such plays as The Merchant of Venice, Nathan the Wise, Driving Miss Daisy, and Angels in America. We will look at both Jewish and non-Jewish playwrights, and always ask the question: Why is it important that this character be Jewish?
