Before we even had a physical location, the building we call our home, a group of women from as close as The Bronx to as far as . . . well, pretty far, got together and decided it was time for the Jewish Community of Paramus to form a community.  And so they did. From Shabbat dinners in each other’s homes, to organizing locations for Hebrew School and Bar-Mitzvahs (yes – there were Bar-Mitzvahs in Bamberger’s), to sharing in holiday celebrations, it was the vision, the insight, the devotion and a love of Judaism that gave rise to the Jewish Community Center of Paramus / Congregation Beth Tikvah Sisterhood, a vibrant and dynamic group that has been going strong.  Our Sisterhood is the glue that keeps our community of women together, the place where we, the women, can celebrate and share our dedication to Jewish values and rituals and, the place where we can all be together and just have fun!

The JCCP/CBT Sisterhood is our safe haven where we all meet, on a given night and eat and eat and learn all kinds of things, from Israeli dancing, to Judaica, to our beautiful stained glass windows, about cooking and baking and shoes and health and holidays . . . .and so much more.  It is a place where we all can come to relax, talk and laugh with our lifelong friends and our new friends as well as a place where we can all find great support in times of need.
