Promote
Attendance and Enthusiasm |
|
| |
|
The
Religious Affairs Committee works very closely with Rabbi Weiner
and Cantor Weiss to supervise religious activities and to promote
attendance and enthusiasm at religious services. This is our charge
and we take it very seriously. |
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
In
recognition of the diverse needs of our congregation we offer non-Egalitarian
services weekly and Egalitarian services on regularly scheduled
Shabbats. After services we meet in the Social Hall for Kiddush
to celebrate Shabbat together as a community. |

Many
Exciting Programs |
|
| |
|
The
Religious Affairs Committee offers many exciting programs. We host
a monthly Friday night Carlebach-style service – a special
service with an emphasis on participation and spirituality. We run
annual Shabbatons for our 8th-12th grade children. They spend an
entire Shabbat in our building, from Kabbalat Shabbat through Havdallah.
They have a blast! We offer a monthly Friday Night Teen Center for
high school students; a service run by teens, for teens, followed
by an open gym and other social activities. This year the JCCP participated
in the popular Shabbat Across America program; a special Shabbat
experience open not only to our congregation but to the entire community
at large. We hope you will join us at future Shabbat Across America
celebrations! |

Junior
Congregation |
|
| |
|
The
JCCP offers Junior Congregation learning services every Shabbat
and Holiday. Our pre-B’nai Mitzvah children learn Synagogue
skills and are treated to a special kid-friendly Kiddush. We’re
extremely proud that most of our Junior Congregation leaders received
their Jewish education right at the JCCP. If your children are too
young for Junior Congregation, please take advantage of our babysitting
services, also offered every Shabbat and Holiday. |

Ensure
That There is a Minyan |
|
| |
|
The
JCCP conducts morning and evening minyanim every day of the year.
We take great pride in offering this service not only to our own
congregants, but also to our neighbors and friends in the community.
We also ensure that there is a minyan in the home of any congregant
during the traditional Shiva mourning period. |

Works
Closely With All |
|
| |
|
The
Religious Affairs Committee works closely with all of the other
arms of the synagogue to guarantee that all activities and events
conform to JCCP religious policies. We are fortunate to be serving
during a very exciting time here at the JCCP. This makes our job
challenging, rewarding and fun! We hope you’ll join us. |
