Vibrant,
active Jewish Women |
|
| |
|
The
Sisterhood of the Jewish Community Center of Paramus is a group
of vibrant, active Jewish women of varying ages and backgrounds
bound together by a common goal. That goal is the shared dedication
to the values of Judaism in our homes, Synagogue and community and
our desire to intertwine Yiddishkeit with every aspect of our lives.

Mathilde
Schechter, founder and first President of Women's League for Conservative
Judaism, declared its mission “to serve the cause of Judaism
by strengthening the bond of unity among Jewish women…”.

Strengthen
the Bond of Jewish Women |
|
| |
|
We
strengthen the bond of Jewish women by offering interesting, educational
and always enjoyable events. Our programs are designed to make each
woman more informed about Judaism, give her a heightened sense of
Jewish involvement and community, and to raise funds for the many
worthy Tzedakah projects that our Shul supports. |

Several
New Events |
|
| |
|
This
past year we introduced several new events which included a Tu B’shvat
Seder, a Pesach recipe swap and baking demonstration, a Yom Ha’Atzmaut
Festival and a Shavuot Chat and Cheesecake. We listened as JCCP
member Jean Weiss told us of her time working with Abba Ebban. |

Even
More Events |
|
| |
|
In
the upcoming year we will be introducing even more events to mix
our rich heritage with our modern day lives. We will begin each
monthly board meeting with a D’var Torah delivered by a Sisterhood
officer. We are planning trips to a Kosher winery and the Jewish
Museum, in addition to working on a Sisterhood Havdalah service
and Chanukah Aromatherapy. |

Celebrate
a Simcha - Sisterhood Can Help |
|
| |
|
When
you celebrate a simcha, Sisterhood can provide catering for a Friday
night Oneg Shabbat or a Saturday Kiddush. Sisterhood’s Judaica
Shop, which is located in our main lobby, is a great place to find
gifts for all occasions. |

Great

|
| |
|
Sisterhood
is a great way to make new friends and be a part of our family here
at the Jewish Community Center of Paramus. We always welcome new
members and encourage everyone to participate at meetings and events. |
